Just How BIG is Airsoft?

Down here in Florida, our locations and demographic is a bit, well diverse for sure. AOs or Areas of Operation are few and far between. Literally speaking! You have to drive at least an hour or two to play at a legit field and well, not all of them are up to par. The good thing about them, they are there for us. Someone is taking the time to put something together for the community using what they have. Ingenuity is what I like to call that. It is why I am doing what I am doing with this organization. To make that gap smaller for players of the community.

The players in South Florida are growing on a weekly basis. There is always someone getting into the sport/hobby for whatever reason. Their kid plays it, and they want to spend time with them. Perhaps its the sense of brotherhood you get. Maybe you cant get into the military and this is your way of paying homage to the men and women of our armed forces, or maybe they are using it as a stress reliever, whatever the case they are interested.

And to give you an idea of how diverse and large this community (the airsoft community as a whole) is, and not too mention developed, check out this video from Operation Lion Claw Military Simulation Series (OCLMSS). Run by John Lu, he puts on the best of the best in military simulation games for our community. Always giving back to the military community as well. If you are unfamiliar with this name, I strongly recommend doing some research and checking him as well as all other events he has put on with his crew.

Truly and inspiration to me and a goal that I think our community here in South Florida is capable of reaching, giving we work together to make it happen. Check out this video with some clip and interviews with the various players from one of their events. This will really give you a great idea how how large this game is and how much larger it is becoming.

Then ask yourself, who really plays airsoft these days? This promo video should help you answer that question.

Airsofters for Abigail

Once in a while a cause comes around where you cannot help but want to be a part of. Whether or not you donate, but the act of sharing and spreading a word can do so much more. Such is the case for the Fleck family. Originally a family of five with a two person income, they welcomed their daughter, Abigail who was born with Trisomy18. She requires 24 hour care. Now they are a family of six with a income of one. Nick Fleck has come up with a way to help make extra money but it is helping going towards Abigail’s care. For a measly $8 you can get a parachord bracelet hand made by Nick at home and you can, for a moment do something that helps a family in need this Holiday season. Please take a moment to watch the video, share and even donate. They have all sorts of bracelets available and would make a great stocking stuffer for your family members, sports fans or military enthusiasts.  Check out the etsy link here, but please listen to the story first and lets help make a difference this Holiday season. Thank you and Happy Holidays from the South Florida Airsoft Association, Inc.
